Finally Google has got a solution for remote areas and narrow streets in India. Currently Google has launched 3 unique features to deal with the navigation issues in India.

  1. Plus Codes
  2. ‘Add an Address’ feature
  3. Voice navigation in 6 Indian Languages
  • Plus Code: This is basically a tagging system in which a large area is divided in small chunks in the small ‘tiled’ form. These every chunk will be named uniquely in the pattern of codes which would be easily identified. This code is designed in specific format which consists of ‘Six Character’ + ‘City’, which can be created and is available to use it by using ‘Google Maps’.
  • Add an Address: Google has now given the authority to the users to create, edit and view the new isolate areas which are created by users themselves. This feature is similar like the Google Business Listing which was a special module for listing the business in the local areas. The only criteria to ‘Add an Address’ is that, it should be easily traceable and will be live after the verification by Google itself.
  • Voice Navigation: Google has answered to their users demand, regarding the local Voice Navigation adds-on in Google Maps. After a great response by the people to the Hindi Language in Google Maps, there were a huge number of requests received to incorporate many other Indian local languages. There are currently 6 languages added to the list i.e. Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Tamil & Gujarati
