Reliance Jio offer 1.1TB FTTH broadband data at 100Mbps in selected cities

After shaking the whole telecom industry by its unbeatable rates and internet plans under the name of Jio, Mukesh Ambani is entering into the new grounds of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) services with the aim to strengthen the roots in this industry as well. This plans to stand out are not just baseless, as a perspective to lead in the market an irresistible offer is being launched by Reliance Jio. The company is offering FTTH service of 1.1 TB at a speed of 100mbps at the selected cities, over the city as reported by The Hindu.

This plan was being tested since September 2016 while the actual trail of the FTTH started last year with limited users in selected cities. Jio Fiber FTTH is currently available at Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jamnagar, Mumbai, and New Delhi.

According to the Hindu “The initial FTTH plan includes 100 gigabytes (GB) of free data at 100 mbps speed; once the data limited is exhausted, the customers can do top-up of 40 GB of free data 25 times in a month, effectively meaning 1,100 GB of free data a month,”. Also, they added,” The company will install the Jio router, which can be also used as a set-top box when the company launches internet protocol television (IPTV) services. The idea is to give a host of services using one box.”

Reliance Jio is also planning to expand its FTTH service for both personal and professional use, also with a aiming in the television sector. To avail, this plan customers can pay an amount of INR 4,500, which will be a refundable amount as a security deposit. Anshuman Thakur, Head of Strategy and Planning at Reliance Jio told the newspaper that the company will install a Jio router, which can also be used as a set-top box to enable TV channels via IPTV services that are yet to be rolled out. Furthermore, the telco is already reported to have more than three lakh kilometers of optic fiber network across the country. This could help a faster rollout of the public release of Jio Fiber.
