Techscribe Central Publication
Our Community Guidelines
Updated: 30/04/2025
At Techscribe Central, we’re not just building a publication — we’re cultivating a community of thinkers, tinkerers, storytellers, and digital explorers. In this rapidly shifting world of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital ethics, and innovation, we believe stories matter more than ever.
This guide outlines what it means to be part of Techscribe Central — not just in what you write, but how you show up as a member of our collective voice.
📌 Why Community Guidelines?
Because we care.
We care about the quality of what we publish. We care about how people feel when they read your work. We care about making this space a meaningful, professional, and inclusive environment where contributors can express themselves — and readers can trust what they’re consuming.
So these aren’t just “rules.” These are the principles we operate by.
💡 What We Publish
Techscribe Central welcomes writing that explores, explains, questions, or personalizes technology. We cover a wide range of topics — from AI and machine learning to hacking stories, cyber culture, human-computer interaction, internet phenomena, product analysis, and beyond.
But regardless of subject, every piece we publish must meet these three core values:
- Insightful — Your work should add something to the conversation.
- Relatable — Whether technical or personal, it should speak to real people.
- Readable — Clarity > complexity. Jargon is fine, but explain it. Write like you’re speaking to an intelligent friend, not a panel of engineers.
✍️ Contributor Guidelines
Whether you’re submitting one article or joining us as a recurring writer, here’s what we expect:
✅ Original Work Only
All submissions must be your own original writing. Plagiarism is an instant no-go.
🤖 AI Use
We embrace AI as a tool — but not as a crutch.
- Articles must not be fully AI-generated.
- You can use tools like ChatGPT to brainstorm, outline, edit, or support your writing. But the heart of your work — your voice, structure, and insight — must be your own.
- If you use AI-generated images, please disclose it at the end of the post like this:
“Thumbnail/image generated and edited by Techscribe Central / the author” this is an example, but the source must be mentioned. Even just “AI Generated” will suffice.
📏 Length & Format
We accept stories of any length — from concise 400-word insights to deep-dives of 5,000+ words. What matters is the value.
- Use headings, spacing, and structure to make your work readable.
- Links to sources or tools are encouraged.
- SEO is welcome, but make it meaningful.
We encourage thoughtful keyword use, but avoid robotic, stuffed writing. You may use ChatGPT to generate headlines. But quality comes first — always.
📚 Topics We Love
Here’s a non-exhaustive list of what we’re always hungry for:
- Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
- Cybersecurity, hacking stories, and ethical hacking
- Developer journeys, product breakdowns, or build logs
- The impact of tech on everyday life, work, or creativity
- Critical takes on innovation, ethics, or bias in technology
- Digital identity, internet culture, online privacy
- Reflections on using, building, or being shaped by tech
If it’s about technology and it has something to say, we’re listening.
🧠 Tone & Voice
Techscribe Central is professional — but never stiff.
We’re okay with personality, creativity, humor, even a bit of sarcasm — as long as it serves the story. Be respectful, be curious, and write like someone who loves tech but doesn’t gatekeep it.
Swearing? Fine if it’s intentional and contextually appropriate — but avoid direct, aggressive use. We don’t cancel people, but we do protect our tone.
Arrogance? Not welcome.
🖼️Thumbnails & Visual Identity
We believe the way a story looks is almost as important as how it reads. A compelling thumbnail draws readers in and sets the tone for your article.
That’s why we encourage all contributors to create visually engaging thumbnails for their pieces.
✅ What we recommend:
- Use our Techscribe Central Pub thumbnail template (we provide this) to keep a cohesive visual style across the publication.
- Include the Techscribe Central Pub logo on your thumbnail for consistent brand recognition.
- You may use AI-generated images or any design tools you prefer— just ensure they reflect the article’s theme.
- Optional: If you prefer, you can attach a private note or draft version and we can help polish or co-create the thumbnail with you.
Alternatively, you can use your own visual style — just keep it high-quality and clean. Our only request: please include the Techscribe Central Pub logo somewhere discreet (bottom corner, watermark, etc.).
At the end of each article, we may include a small branded signature (“This article was originally published in Techscribe Central Pub”) or similar, to support discoverability and identity across the web.
🚫 What We Don’t Publish
- Fully AI-generated articles
- Self-promo pieces disguised as insight
- Thin content that regurgitates trending topics
- Hate speech, discriminatory content, or misinformation
- Anything that violates Medium’s Content Guidelines
We also reserve the right to edit or reject submissions that don’t align with our vision or voice.
🔁 Medium-Specific Policies
Since Techscribe Central is hosted on Medium, you also agree to follow Medium’s broader rules and policies.
This includes:
- No spammy links
- No deceptive or AI-generated fake identities
- Respecting copyright, trademarks, and fair use
- Not participating in any kind of click fraud or engagement manipulation
Violating these can result in Medium action — not just removal from our publication.
🤝 Writer Conduct & Collaboration
We aim to build a collective of contributors who support one another, learn together, and grow through storytelling.
- Be open to edits. We’ll always try to keep your voice intact, but clarity, grammar, and formatting may be adjusted.
- Be responsive. We value communication, especially if you want to pitch a series or collaborate on ideas.
- Be constructive in feedback and kind in comments. Writers are readers too. Let’s treat each other respectfully.
