Yesterday, we discussed “Yes Man” by Jim Carrey and linked it to the Sunnah of Prophet PBUH.

We say No quite often. We have seen people promoting “the art of saying No”, “say No where necessary”, “do not overburden yourself with more tasks”. And fun part is; these ideas sell. Because underneath, it gives the message of “I am not valued enough”. People honor this theme and buy it.

It is correct. We have a value. Our minutes / hours are of importance. Life is not properly managed, until we organize our priorities and live upto them.

But what did Prophet PBUH use to do? How did he manage a good balance between family, profession, hobbies and extra curricular activities? How did he fix his everyday life? Let’s discuss.

Today’s topic is broken into following parts:-

  • Embrace Yes
  • Breathe Success

Embrace Yes

Jim Carry lives a non productive life. Watches movies all day. Eats pop corns. Feeds lies to his friends. Doesn’t get out. Wastes his life. Lives a life of utter un-fulfillment. A friend crosses his path, takes him to “Yes Man” seminar. He is convinced and starts saying “Yes” to every opportunity. Initially he gets irritated due to over burdening of responsibilities. But down this road he earns something unique.

Prophet PBUH was a willing worker. He was always available. Caravans, investors and his community loved him for his readiness. He did not break promises or missed a deadline. He was a Yes Man.

If you want to change your life right now, get a better house, good income and more reputation. Start saying Yes to all good things. The next knock at your door takes you on a trip to North for a week? Go ahead, take it. The next call asks you to write an essay? Go ahead, write it. The next person you meet asks you to listen him for an hour? Go ahead, condole him. You find a click me on a website to donate charity? Go ahead, give 5 Dollar charity.

Start your day like the Sunnah of Prophet PBUH. Wake up smiling, early, available, filled with purpose, joy, childishness and start feeding your hunger. Get into bringing smiles. Fighting for the poor. Running, loving and building. Just like Prophet PBUH, live a day of “Yes Man”. It will change your life starting today.

Breathe Success

The “Yes” word will bring in abundant opportunities your way. You will find good content to write about. A good story to talk about. A good memory to think about. Your phone will start ringing more often. Your time will start getting shorter. The glad tidings that used to come in months, will knock your door every other hour. You will find some clients, some customers and some jobs. You will be credited with labels of “honest”, “truthful”, “helpful”. And word of mouth praise, will build your brand better.

This way, you will start giving the due value to your time. Every second of your day will be carefully chosen. You will find blessings in calmness of the nature, air touching your feet and polite chirps out of your window. You will take a good nap, because it will prepare you for more opportunities. You will talk sober, because it will open you up for incoming opportunities. You will act professional, because it will give your content the due value. You will walk fearless and proud.

The adventure-filled part of your life will begin Now. You will start finding resistance over tiny issues. You will start losing chunks of normalcy. People who walk a different road, will discredit you. You will be attacked quite often.

If you are a person, who loves adventure, you will crush these barriers and breathe the success every second. If you are someone who loves success, you will start finding contentment in the tiny fractions of your day. If you are someone who is tired of living a normal life, you will find a burning fire inside you everyday.

Conclusion

More we focus on our second clock, the more it slows down. It is not stopping, agreed. But it is not doing any injustice to your life as well. It came in same quality, dimension and duration as it came to Muhammad (PBUH). It brought exactly same world to Umar, as it has presented you. The same air, water, mud and splash. The same barriers and same shackles as it had fell upon Bilal, Usman and Ali. The seconds in your clock are ticking reminders to wake you up. That you re-draw your life plan. Some new sketches. New bucket of paint. A new wall. A new canvas. A new You. That moves today, with a new passion, a new goal, a new life and never ever looks back.
