Welcome to the 85th part of the 100-part series on Blockchain.

The metaverse offers a new dimension to travel and tourism with its immersive capabilities.

(i) Destination Window Shopping: The metaverse cannot replace physical travel but can enhance your traveling experience. Imagine how it would feel if you could virtually visit and check out a destination before you traveled there. You could compare destinations before deciding where to visit and evaluate whether an attraction is worth visiting by having virtual tours. The immersive experience provided by Metaverse will be a great leap from the current modes of vacation planning that include watching YouTube videos, reading blogs/magazines, etc.

(ii) Hotel booking on metaverse: Virtual reality tours can enhance the booking process of hotels, but the metaverse can take this a step further. For instance, using a digital avatar could make it possible for a potential customer to walk through a metaverse hotel, which has been designed to look exactly like a real physical hotel. This then gives them a 360° view of the hotel room, a clear picture of how big each room is, or what features they can expect if they upgrade. Thus the metaverse takes the hotel booking to a next level.

(iii) Virtual celebrations: People often prefer hotels for celebrations, including birthdays, weddings, and business events. With a metaverse hotel, you can celebrate with your friends and family and have a uniquely immersive experience without ever actually physically being there. Through your avatar, you can mingle with different online “guests” from all over the world, celebrate and attend events held in the hotel venue. Even the metaverse hotels will have avatar receptionists to greet you and your guests.
