“Creating something from nothing isn’t a slogan, it’s a way of life.” — Allen Nance

From Nothing, Something.

Build.

(verb) /bild/ — to construct or make something by putting together parts or materials; to develop or form.

What does it mean to build something from nothing? It’s an excellent question. And it’s no accident that it’s also our company motto and the mantra of our culture.

Threaded throughout the very fiber of our being is this desire to create. To make. To build something when before there was nothing. To birth an idea from concept to inception to execution is a beautiful mastery to take part in. A moment where a lightbulb turns on, an aha, a “what if” is all it takes for the creation to begin.

Our two founders, Paul Judge and Allen Nance, are prime examples of guys who have built amazing things from the dust. It’s from their vision, passion and hustle that TechSquare Labs was founded. And in fact our space is the very incarnation of our motto. What used to be an old Office Depot in an up and coming tech savvy Midtown Atlanta got transformed into one of Atlanta’s freshest and most unique tech hubs. But it’s not just a slogan.

Creating something from nothing isn’t a slogan, its a way of life. — Allen Nance

In our space things happen. An idea turns into a startup. A solution to a problem turns into an actual business model. A theory gets tested then proven. A thinker turns into a doer. An employee transforms into an entrepreneur.

Building something from nothing is not for the weak at heart. It’s gutsy. It’s risky. It’s hard work. It’s trial and error. It’s facing challenges head on. It’s failing often. It’s going against the flow. It’s getting laughed at. It’s getting questioned and doubted. It’s beating the odds. It’s staying up late. It’s losing some sleep. It’s working through the pain.

Just go ask anyone that is around TechSquare Labs if we work hard. Seriously just ask them. You will get at least three examples or stories. Creating something from nothing is hard work, really hard. Each team ranging from one hundred employees to three have seen hands on examples of hard work. Whether it is recruiting a talented team member, looking at some code, hell, setting up a booth, or making a cold call, these companies are grinding. — Allen Nance

It’s running a marathon not a sprint. In it for the long haul. Building until it’s built. All from nothing.

This is what excites us. This is what empowers us. This is energizes us to keep building.

Join us. Let’s build something from nothing together.
