We live in an age of technological marvels and augmented reality, yet we still crave the presence of nature to ground us on this lovely earth that we inhabit.
Fortunately for us, 3co brings these two worlds together.
3co sells plants, but they do so using augmented reality. Cool, right? Because it’s difficult to picture exactly what a two-foot tall cactus is actually going to look like in your living room. With 3co, you don’t have to guess: just point your phone, and see the plant sitting there in all its thorny glory. Not quite the right spot? Move it a few feet over to the left, by the window. That’s it: nice. Go ahead and buy.
3co has just entered Techstars Class 138, in London. “We’re 100% excited to make the most of every moment. The mentor madness should indeed be insane,” says Lance Legel, 3co CTO. “Through Techstars, 3co will accelerate faster and more intelligently toward product-market fit. For us, this will mean developing technology and logistics that power people to more easily imagine and create their own paradises.”
They’ve had a busy summer already. For one thing, according to Lance, “The market for plants literally doubles in the spring/summer.” For another, “We built a supply chain for 3D scanning thousands of plants and flowers being grown in the Netherlands, rendering them with high accuracy in augmented reality, and shipping them fast and affordably on demand to our customers across Europe.”
