We all know that Oneplus has become a more premium brand. It is the #1 India’s premium selling smartphone brand. With the new Oneplus 8 pro, oneplus had released its true Flagship device. Now it comes with an IP rating, fast wireless charging and also a flagship grade camera which enables it to compete neck to neck with the Apple’s and Samsung’s Flagship devices. Now lets see why Oneplus 8 pro is still a “Flagship Killer”.

Oneplus 8 pro

Oneplus has announced that the new Oneplus 8 pro starting at a whooping $899(8gb +128gb variant) and $999 for 12gb ram and 256gb storage. We all know that India is its main market. Now if we convert those prices into Indian rupees the prices are as follows

Oneplus 8 pro(8+128) = $899 that is Rs.68,725

Oneplus 8 pro(12+256) = $999 that is Rs.76,370

At the live event Oneplus hasn’t announced the prices for other regions. Oneplus tweeted this tweet after the event stating “Good things come to those who w8”

After for few days Oneplus has released the prices of oneplus 8 series on 19th April. Oneplus 8 pro(8+128) for Rs.54,999 and Oneplus 8 pro(12+256) for Rs.59,999. Which is a massive difference for the prices stated above. The differences are Rs.13725(approx $180 less) for base variant and Rs.16371(approx $214 less) for the top variant.

In India the prices of Flagship devices from Apple and Samsung are treated as crazy expensive particularly iPhones. The prices of iPhones are more than the actual converted price(from USD). Lets look at the below table.

The price difference between S20 and Oneplus 8 pro in US is only $100 but in India it is double that difference.

The iPhone 11 is relatively $200 cheaper than Oneplus 8 pro in US but when comes to India it is $174 more than the Oneplus 8 pro.

Indian people always loved Oneplus because of the pricing of the Oneplus devices. Oneplus was able to produce all the top notch specs combined with the smooth user experience at a much lower and better price than other Flagships ,which attracted a lot of Indian people and the Oneplus community is kept becoming bigger and bigger every year. So Oneplus still remains as a “Flagship Killer” in India.
