We had no less than 250 qualified applications from 40+ countries that have applied for Startup Avalanche 2020.

Together with our partners at Risky Business, we’re connecting ambitious early-stage startups with experienced international VCs and investors.

Startup Avalanche is not just a startup competition—it’s a platform that provides all the essential resources founders need to make the leap towards exponential growth. We provide investment consultancy, pitch training, and business mentoring to prepare startups for 1:1 meetings with top investors and the grand prize.

Although we initially started with a €75.000 cheque, our partners decided to raise the bar — a €150,000 investment offered by ROCA X, Fortech, Risky Business and Arobs Transylvania.

This year, only 11 startups have entered the semifinals. Here’s what they do:

Apio Digital (Romania) helps real estate sell faster by providing a 3D modular solution for potential buyers.

DiaM Life (USA) is a centralized diabetes management solution for people suffering from diabetes.

EnviCore (Canada) provides sustainable tailings treatment to help restore tailings ponds into thriving habitats.

Hashiona (UK) improves the day-to-day quality of life for Hashimoto patients and helps them get into remission.

PayPact (Romania) fixes a big pain in the insurance claim field, providing claim money in less than 48 hours from the moment of the incident.

Placesense (Israel) is a platform that turns collected data into aggregated, anonymous and real-time insights to help businesses understand their market, competitors, and customers’ foot-traffic.

Ponera Group (Switzerland) is a provider of smart, modular industrial packaging solutions as an enabler for the implementation of Circular Economy in freight transportation.

Salesbeat (UK) is a virtual sales manager eliminating lost sales in the fast-moving consumer goods industry.

Sourcingbot (Germany) aims at making electronic component sourcing engineering free.

Yayzy (UK) builds a revolutionary technology to calculate carbon footprint using payment data and helping you unlock climate action with your spending and investments.

As hard as it was, we had to introduce the finalists of this year’s edition on the main stage: AgUnity, EnviCore, PayPact, Ponera Group, and Salesbeat.

Yet, the winner of Startup Avalanche 2020 is AgUnity!
