In this article, I will tell you everything you need to know about Season 5 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Warzone and how to win.

When Season 5 of Modern Warfare first released, a lot was going on and nobody knew how to use the new guns or where the best place to land was in Warzone. After playing the game for around 15 hours over the past 3 days, I have written this article showing my personal preferences to help you get the win in Warzone and drop a Nuke in Modern Warfare.

The New Weapons

There were 3 new weapons introduced with the Season 5 Update: The AN-94, ISO, and Dual Kodachi’s. In order, we have new AR, SMG, and Melee weapons as well.

AN-94

AN-94 (Picture Credit: AltChar)

This weapon is an upgraded version of the AK-47. The AN-94 does not do as much damage as a lot of AR’s, but due to the Hyperburst function, which fires 2 shots instantaneously, your first trigger pull counts as two shots, making it great if you need to hit someone hard before they go out of range or turn a corner. The recoil is also not too bad, making it a recommended gun to run in Warzone.

ISO

The ISO is essentially an upgraded Fennec. This gun is designed mainly for CQB combat, according to Activision. It also has a very fast rate of fire, only passed by the Fennec, and controllable recoil. I would recommend running a Fennec or an MP5 in Warzone, as the range on this gun is not nearly as good.

Dual Kodachi’s

YES, we have dual swords now. The Dual Kodachi’s are a one-hit kill like the knife but you run the slowest compared to the knife and the Kali Sticks. The lunge is between the knife and the Sticks, making it a decent weapon. However, in my opinion, it is not as good compared to the knife because, with it, you can run faster, making it easier to juke people out, especially in SnD. These are very fun to use, however, and look stunning in-game.

The Best Warzone Loadout

In this section, I will be covering what is the best (in my opinion) normal and sniper loadout that you can run in Warzone. Although I don’t personally like to snipe, I got opinions from multiple people about what is the best loadout to run for sniping.

My personal Bruen build

Normal

For your normal loadout, the best loadout that you can run right now is still going to be the Bruen and the MP5. There were no gun nerfs in this update, meaning that the Bruen is still the most broken gun in the game. For the Bruen, I recommend running the Corp Combat Holo Sight because it has the best view and still enables you to beam people at long range.

The MP5 build is still the same, however, running 45 round mags is better due to the Season 4 reloaded nerfs to the 10mm 30 round mags. The MP5 also is used because of the extreme mobility, which is something you won’t get if you run a FAL as your secondary.

Sniping

For sniping, the HDR is heavily recommended, due to the great damage and high bullet velocity. This following class was recommended by people that I questioned. You can also take off fully loaded and put in Focus or Stippled Grip Tape.

My HDR loadout

You can either run an M4 or an MP7 for your secondary, but this article will be showing an M4 due to the great damage at short to large ranges. This is a basic M4 build that uses the XRK M4 Blueprint to get the improved iron sights.

Drop Spots

With the introduction of the opened Stadium and Train Station, here are some of my favorite drop spots to land at (Trios and Quads).

Hangars / Airport Maintenance

Hangers is currently my favorite place to drop for many reasons:

  • Proximity to center: This location is very close to the center of the map, making rotations very rare and minimal.
  • Loot: There are 6 Hangars and quite a few houses in the area, guaranteeing that you will get a lot of money, high-level weapons, and full ammo. Even if you don’t get full ammo, there is a Sheriff’s building in this area, allowing you to refill quite a bit of ammo.

Superstore

Superstore is the favorite drop spot for many players because of the intense early game action. Here are other reasons you should drop here:

  • High Risk, High Reward: If you land here, you are going to have a lot of early game fights, but if you win all of them, you will have an insane amount of loot.
  • Center of Map: Atlas is extremely close to the center of the map, making rotations super easy.

Floor Loot in Warzone

The loot in Warzone is very different from Season 4’s loot pool. With the FAL and MP7 removed from the floor loot, the early game has become a lot fairer. The Synthetic Dreams blueprint has been changed to have a 100 round mag and a holo sight. A lot of guns like the AUG, P90, and Kar98k have returned, making the early games very exciting.

New Multiplayer Maps

The 2 new multiplayer maps are Oil Rig and Harbor. In my opinion, these maps are too large and not as fun to play in. Not much to write about here, so I will say that for the next mid-season update, they should release a smaller map to balance out with Shipment.

Overall, Season 5 is looking to be amazing. With a multitude of new features, from the improved loot pool to the new locations that minimize campers (including external ziplines), it has been a lot of fun. If you don’t have Multiplayer, you can try it out for free this weekend until Sunday. The game is also discounted because of the free weekend. I would highly recommend trying it out, especially to unlock the Bruen.
