Activision recently launched a new mid-season update, with new game modes, a new LMG, new operators, and a live event. I will be reviewing everything to give you the best insight on this new update and how it might change the meta of the game.

New Weapons

FiNN LMG

The FiNN LMG is currently the most customizable gun in the game right now, because of the seven (yes, you read that right) different barrels that you can put on the gun. The recoil is minimal, and the fire rate is amazing if you use any of the Adverse barrels, which increase the fire rate greatly at the disadvantage of recoil. Since there are so many loadouts that you can use, I won’t be going over them here, but if you want to know some, make sure to check out this article by The Loadout on the 3 best FiNN LMG loadouts.

Games Of Summer

The Games of Summer are 5 separate trials where the goal is to get Gold, each one 24 hours after the other. Don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s easy however, as these are some of the harder trials designed by Activision. At the time this article is being written, there have been two trials, Risky Parkour and Gun Course.

Live Event

COD recently had a live event called “Know Your History” to unveil the new game, Call of Duty: Black Ops — Cold War. I was able to play through the entire event, so I will be telling you what happens and what exclusive awards can be unlocked through this event.

Loading Screen

When loading into the event, you are presented with the normal Warzone loading screen, albeit with a few changes. First off, almost everything is blacked out, and the 3 pictures that show up above the text were replaced with pictures of areas inside of the bunkers.

Map

All of the area names were blacked out, indicating that they were “classified,” but otherwise, the map looked normal.

Quests

For the first quest, you had to kill 5 people and pick up the “intel” from their bodies, which wasn’t that difficult of a task. This would help you get the map code for the next task. You also get the All The Guns emblem.

Next, you have to secure a key, which can be anywhere on the map, as the location is randomly generated. It is always near a bunker, however. Once you complete this step, you will unlock the Ascension calling card.

Once you get the key, you will get a random golden “search area” on your map. You have to search that area by opening supply boxes until you find a golden supply crate, which will crack the map code once opened. Once this is completed, you will unlock the Test Pattern charm.

Once you crack the code, you will get a pair of coordinates on the side of your screen. You have to head to that coordinate and search for an NPC (Woods) standing still with a gun in his hands. Once you find him, you have to interact with him to wield the weapon, which is the Bay of Pigs blueprint.

You have now completed the missions, but there is still one more thing to do before you watch the trailer. A transmission plays, and you are then spawned into the map, with one goal: run to the stadium. You have 90 seconds to run to the stadium, under the guise that a nuke will detonate. After that, the trailer for Cold War will play.

Overall, the Season 5 Reloaded update was very nice. Sadly, there wasn't as much content as expected in this update, but that's alright, considering we got one of the most fun guns to use (especially in Search and Destroy).
