Hacklab is an annual Hackathon/technology conference which sees, software developers, engineers, designers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in Technology, come together to discuss issues arising, identifying opportunities and the way forward on making Ghana a better place using technology.

Last year’s Hacklab, dubbed “Promoting e-commerce in Ghana” was held on KNUST campus, Vodafone Café, brought together workshops and talks. The Hackathon birthed 20 new projects with four of them emerging winners in 4 different categories.

This year’s event promises to be even more interesting. The themeor Hacklab2017 is ‘Promoting Financial Inclusions Through Digital Solutions’, taking place from 4th — 6th March on KNUST campus, College of Science Auditorium.

With the involvement of angel investors, venture capitalists, the government and other major stakeholders, participants will have the opportunity to ‘Pitch The Rich’. This activity is designed for selected startups at the event to pitch their product or business to the panel, which will vet their ideas. The best team gets a seed fund as an award.

There will also be workshop sessions to train participants on essential topics related to the solutions they will be providing, which includes Design Thinking workshops, UI/UX workshops as well as pitching workshops.

The event is open to all stakeholders and industry players.
