Important Day For Internet Users — Safer Internet Day!
Safer Internet Day is an European Union wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people.
The Theme this year is ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’. All over the world, people are sharing safety tips on how to use the internet. This is what Safer Internet Day is about. In Ghana and Africa, and all over the world, people are partaking in this useful exercise to safe guard lives and properties.
With a 27 million human population in Ghana, internet penetration as at 2016, was about 29.60%. With 8 million internet users as at June 2016, against 30,000 internet users in December 2000.
This gives the impression of how fast internet penetration is in Ghana. Many people all over social media are talking about Safer Internet Day, and as at the time of publishing this article, Safer Internet Day Ghana was number one on the trends in Ghana.
