As many of you know, Techtonica provides six months of full-time technical training, living stipends, and job placement to amazing local women and non-binary adults with low incomes. I’m ecstatic for the apprenticeship program we’re starting in January to contribute to a more equal Bay Area and tech industry.

‘Twas a glorious day for a coding workshop (as part of our apprenticeship application process) at Exygy.

Thank you to the volunteers and companies (Exygy, npm, Huge, Bloomberg, LendStreet, Google Community Space) that helped with the application process. We now have finalists!

The remaining applicants rocked their way through:

  • HTML and CSS workshops
  • JavaScript workshops
  • Independent code challenges
  • Long application forms
  • Pairing with staff
  • Interviews with staff
  • Interviews with board members

In order to accept the finalists into our apprenticeship, we need more corporate sponsors. I’m inviting companies that are passionate about building diverse, productive engineering teams to join us as sponsors.

Sponsoring companies receive tax benefits, exposure, and the chance to lift the local community. Our biggest sponsors can also outsource their apprenticeships and receive inclusion training.

Want to make a difference in 2018? Please advocate for your company to become a supporter today!
