WWDC 2016 Predictions
Here is a list of my predictions for WWDC 2016.
- Apple will announce Mac OS 10 based on OSX 10.11
- Apple will announce Phone OS 10 based on iOS 10
- Apple will announce TV OS 10
- Apple will announce Watch OS 3
- Apple will announce “IoT” OS based on Watch OS 3
- Apple will rev each of their AirPort and Time Machine products to use the new IoT OS
- Apple will start to publicly bring Mac OS 10 and Phone OS 10 into alignment
- Phone OS / iOS 10 will allow Watch complications on the lock screen.
Here is a list of things they will announce in the next couple of years
- Sometime in the next 12–24 months Apple will release an ARM based Laptop
- Sometime in the next 24–36 months Apple will make the Pro line of Tablets, Laptops, and Desktops use the Intel line
- Sometime in the next 24–36 months Apple will make the non-pro line of Tablets, Laptops, and Desktops use their Custom ARM silicon
- Sometime with the next 3–5 years Apple will move away from Intel
