This guide will demonstrate how to utilize and test the Teddy protocol risk-free on the Avalanche Fuji Testnet.

Educational purposes only

Step 1 — Setting Up MetaMask

There are two methods to setting up the Avalanche Fuji Testnet on your MetaMask wallet.

Method 1: Set up Custom RPC in Metamask

This is the manual method and you can scroll below if you prefer a less involved method.

i. Open Metamask and click on the dropdown for networks.

ii. Select “Add Network”

iii. You’ll be redirected to the [Add a network] page. Copy and paste the following details and click [Save]:

Network Name: Avalanche Fuji Testnet

New RPC URL: https://api.avax-test.network/ext/bc/C/rpc

ChainID: 43113

Symbol: AVAX

Explorer: https://cchain.explorer.avax-test.network

Method 2: Chainlist

i. Visit https://chainlist.org/. and click “Connect Wallet”.

ii. Search “Avalanche Fuji Testnet”, click “Add To Metamask”.

iii. Click “Approve”

iv. You will now be redirected to the Avalanche Fuji Testnet network

Step 2 — Acquiring AVAX On Testnet

You would require AVAX to conduct transactions and use them for the Teddy protocol. This can easily be achieved for free through the following:

i. Head to https://faucet.avax-test.network

ii. Enter your MetaMask account address number where the Avalanche Faucet says “Address (C-Chain or X-Chain),” complete the “I’m not a robot” captcha and click “request AVAX.”

Sometimes if the network is busy, an error occurs and the request can not be completed. Avalanche resets the connection and allows one to retry every hour. If you happen to be unlucky and this occurs while you are making your request, the only thing you can do is wait and try again in another hour.

Step 3 — Try Out Teddy Troves

Head over to https://app.teddy.cash/#/ to begin the process of opening a trove on the testnet.

i. Connect your MetaMask wallet to the site and once complete you will be able to access the app.

Click “Next” and “Connect” to the wallet address your prefer

ii. Click “ Borrow TSD”

iii. At the time of writing, 30 AVAX is worth approximately ~$2,400 which is sufficient but for this guide 40 AVAX will be used since that puts the collateral ratio above 150% which helps during recovery mode. Read more about this mode here

Click “Confirm

iv. A MetaMask transaction will pop-up to deposit your AVAX coins in the trove, click “Confirm.”

v. The trove details will now be available once the transaction is complete.

Step 4 — Try Out Teddy’s Stability Pool

i. The TSD obtained from troves can be staked in the stability pool to earn TEDDY rewards and AVAX from liquidation fees.

ii. Head over to the Teddy staking tab to stake your Teddy rewards from the stability pool.

Step 5 — Test Closing Your Trove

It is important to note that it might be difficult to test this functionality in the testnet. This is because TSD can’t be freely obtained, and there is a TSD borrowing fee to cover upon closing your trove.

i Click “Close Trove”

ii. A confirmation as below will appear

Click “Confirm”

iii. A MetaMask transaction will pop-up to close your trove, click “Confirm.”

Congratulations.
You have now completed the risk free method of testing Teddy Cash.
