Love others to love yourself

Keiichiro Hirano at TEDxKyoto 2012

Keiichiro Hirano’s talk at TEDxKyoto 2012 is now featured at TED.com.

Wow.

TED.com is an ultimate goal for all TEDx organizers like me. From the very beginning when we started TEDxKyoto with Jay, we have been dreaming that someday we would be picked up at TED.com.

This big WOW was made possible by the great effort of the whole TEDxKyoto team. Without the team, I could never reach this high.

I think, however, it would be somehow informative for other TEDx organizers if I left what we specially put our energy on. To make the dream come true, we focused:

  1. finding the best speaker. Keiichiro is a talented novelist who has a brilliant idea — love others to love your self.
  2. showing the best talk. We repeated rehearsals many times for showing the best talk.
  3. supporting the speakers so that they could be in relaxed condition. We supported not only stage performance but also travelling and accommodation for speakers.
  4. filming beautifully. We hired super-tallented film directors (as volunteers) and rented five HD cams and a crane.
  5. spreading the talk world wide. Thanks to Keiichiro, we could post English and Korean subtitles to YouTube archive.

While I listed several hints, let me once again say that the team work is the most important key for successful TEDx events.

Big thank you to our speakers, our volunteers, our partners and our participants.
