On January 31, 2018, our inbox received the following message from Medium.

We’re writing because you are the owner or editor of one or more publications on Medium, in order to inform you about a change we are making to how publications work. As of February 5th, you will no longer be able to request a story on Medium to be added to your publication. You will still be able to add writers and editors to your publication, and those writers and editors can submit draft stories for you to review, edit, and publish.

This is a BIG change to us, because our Journal of TEDx Experience and its Japanese edition are based on “request a story” function of Medium. Until now, the editor of J. TEDx Experience crawled the sea of Medium stories and post requests when he find an amazing story to add. So far, so good.

Due to this change, the editor will send the final requests to writers of great stories on February 4. After that day, he will invite writers to the journal, instead of requesting independent stories. This would be a little bit more complicated than the previous process, but we must go on.

And, here is a good news too. If you already published one or more stories on J. TEDx Experience, you are already a writer of the journal. You can always put your draft story so that the editor publish it as a part of the journal.

Thank you.
