TEDx Distillery District Women 2015
“Momentum”
Driving power or strength.
That was this year’s theme for the TEDx Distillery District Women event. The event was hosted at the beautiful Airship venue in the distillery district. It was amazing to see all the 6 months of hard work we put in come to life.

2 inspiring performances.
All the speakers shared very inspiring and personal stories. It is amazing to see so many talented women from around Toronto on the same stage. From re-building life from the bottom, to a new purpose of tattoos, to finding a cure for cancer; each speaker took the audience on a beautiful journey. Emotions of hope, excitement, faith and fear definitely filled the room. These women’s accomplishments and journey will definitely continue to gain momentum for our society for many years to come. The performers were also wonderful. They showed women can be sassy, emotional, strong and successful.
Sometimes, we may lose motivation in life. We can easily get into a mundane routine. However, listening to these speaker’s stories help to build some momentum and excitements into our lives.
As I look back, we as a team also showed tremendous momentum. There were many challenges during the planning process. As a team, we supported and helped one another. We didn’t just stick to our own role. We put on multiple hats when needed. We didn’t blame others when mistakes happened. Together, we built momentum towards the finish line.
Later in the afternoon, we also had a fun social gathering on the patio. It was a great networking opportunities for everyone. The guests also had the opportunities to chat with all the down to earth speakers.
At last, all the appetizers were eaten, the ciders drank, the sun went down and we wrapped up a great event.
I am very grateful for this opportunity. Grateful for all the speakers for volunteering their time. Grateful for all the positive feedbacks. I’m mostly grateful to have met and worked (some for the second time) with the other wonderful, beautiful and strong ladies on the organizing team.
Let’s keep the momentum going.
