Caregiving is a deeply political act in the 21st century. In an era where the hierarchy of organizational structure and the invisible nature of feminine labour has rendered relationships transactional, caregiving is a revolutionary engagement. However, caregivers’ contribution is at the risk of being romanticized and lacks formalized support systems.

This inspired me to write this piece about how caregivers need communities of their own and must remember to take time for their personal well-being. Selflessness is often glorified, but healthy boundaries and self-care is crucial for caregivers to continue doing what they do.
