Is It Possible To Build A Website And Make Your First Sale From It Inside of 30 Days… Even If you’ve Never Made A Sale Online Before?… I’m Testing It To Find Out
I’m taking on a personal project that is likely to be interest to you if you’re reading this right now.
What I want to talk about specifically is what this particular project is, why I’m even taking on this project and what my plans are going forward.
What Is It?
I’m going to be launching and growing an authority site. Basically what this means is that I’m attempting to produce an asset that could eventually produce a full-time income for me, and could eventually become in and of itself a stand alone business.
My reasoning for delving into this endeavor is the following:
Why Am I Taking On this Project?
For one, it’s a learning experience (Which I’m all about learning, I get very excited when I learn about things that interest me). I honestly want to know (Not just on an intellectual level, but on a visceral level gained through personal experience) what it actually takes to bootstrap a website from making $0 to supplementing my income, to then replacing my full time income, to eventually making six-figures or more. Plus surely, this is a great way to train myself in the hard and tangible marketing and sales skills in preparation for my future.
Secondly, while I am pursuing and definitely want to work what I essentially consider my dream job, I don’t want to have to need to work for someone else in order to support myself.
Lastly, taking on this project is proof that I’m not just all talk, it shows that I’m willing to do whatever it takes to gain the skills to grow professionally and to produce value for the people that I work with.
What Are My Plans Going Forward?
I plan to share with you my process of doing market research, coming up with an idea, validating that idea, and the entire process that goes into launching a brand new site (Hopefully successfully).
My monthly financial long term goal for this lifestyle business is $6,500 a month. I ultimately want for it to be able to cover my cost of living as well as give me funds with which I can party and do other social activities.
Specifically for this 30 day challenge, I want to launch the website for this business; for the launch to have been deemed successful the following criteria should be met:
⦁ Obviously the site should be live and functioning
⦁ I want to have a minimum of 50 people who have joined my mailing list by launch day
⦁ I also should make my first sale(s) (A minimum of 1 sell) on this day
Of course, to give myself the highest chance of this happening, many things will have to happen over the next 30 days; however, the three overarching activities that will encompass all of the other daily activities are the following:
1. Market research
2. Producing the content/Creating the site
3. Promotion
Basically these are the three phases I’m breaking this down into. I will spend a little over a week on each phase (With the exception of market research — The better I know my market, the better I’ll be able to help solve problems that specifically speak to them; thus equating to increased business)
My weekly activities will be broken down daily activities, which I will list and evaluate how I performed on these activities as well as their result.
