On Friday October 9th 2015, Hideo Kojima left Konami (the video game develeopment company he worked at since 1986, and went on to open his own development company titled, Kojima Productions.

Kojima Productions

Kojima was the designer, screenwriter, director and producer of some of the most impactful games in a generation, including and most notably the Metal Gear Solid franchise…. until now that is. Konami has officially released a trailer for a new title , Metal Gear Survive (pictured top). It’s a co-op ‘zombie’ survival game set in an alternate universe after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. It’s the first Metal Gear title Konami will release since the departure of Kojima, and wholistically a far shot from anything the series has debut to date. Kojima is one of the most loved and admired names in the video game industry to date, and his departure from Konami did not sit well with fans. That along with the announcement of the release of a Kojima signature title without Kojima has led to the trailer of the upcoming game being pretty much objectively hated. As of this very moment, the YouTube video boasts an astounding 30,000 dislike to a measly 5,00 like ratio.

Needless to say the internet has been less than enthused by Konami’s announcement. But here at GreenBox we urge you to form your own opinions. You can check the video out for yourself below. Tell us what you think.
