Recently, the state of Georgia has become a go-to destination for creativity. Companies in the entertainment industry love hosting huge events and shooting for movies and television shows because of the tax credit they get when coming to Georgia. It’s a lot cheaper for them to do business in Georgia versus being in California or New York. One of the most profitable industries that has done more events in Georgia in recent years is the gaming industry. In 2013, Microsoft chose Atlanta as a city that would host its XBox One World Tour.

For the past 9 years, SiegeCon (Southern Interactive Entertainment & Game Expo) has been an event produced by the Georgia Game Developers Association and it has been the largest gaming trade show in the southeastern United States. SiegeCon is a place where game developers can come and pitch their game ideas to investors and where game lovers can try out some up and coming games by a bunch of creative individuals. It is also a great networking event to meet some like-minded gamers and creators and professionals to exchange contacts and create amazing life changing opportunities.

SiegeCon will also have a list of interesting activities including the first “Excellence in Indie Game Award” with $500 in prize money, sessions focusing on game design, programming, art, and audio & business, leading vendors and industry figures including leaders in Microsoft, Hi-Rez, and Google, and much more.

SiegeCon is taking place in Atlanta, Georgia from October 7–9 at Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria.
