Imagine being trapped between life and death. Surrounded by colorful and poignant objects and places. You don’t know how you got there but you know that you must push forward to discover how it is that you died. While alone, you are surrounded by secrets that could be the key to unlocking the whole mystery.

This is the plot of ‘The Almost Gone’ a new point-and-click adventure game developed by Happy Volcano. This melancholy tale throws the player into a beautiful world made up of isometric facades and suburban scenes that hide dark secrets beneath their whimsical appearance.

Players will explore eerie and immersive scenes while playing

The game boasts a masterfully written story crafted by award-winning author Joost Vandecasteele which will unfold as the player explores the games world.

Paired with haunting music and atmospheres, it is apparent that this is a game that will pluck at the heartstrings and pique the curiosity of players deep into the night. This is the gaming equivalent of a page-turner.

Forensically unveiling clues and secrets hidden throughout the different diorama’s will advance the story of the girl trapped between life and death. Why is she trapped? Will she ever get out? These are questions the players will have while exploring the evocative world of ‘The Almost Gone’.

The game seems to set a tone of life, death, and mental health. Seemingly, these are all things the players will discover and unveil as they explore the eerily abandoned world once bustling with suburban life.

According to the games developer, players will be able to explore scenes ranging from a normal suburban home to abandoned streets and hospitals. While reminiscent of ‘Monument Valley’ in appearance, ‘The Almost Gone’ sets itself apart with its immersive and emotional story which will capture the hearts and minds of players with each new revelation and discovery.

Featuring five unique chapters, ‘The Almost Gone’ seems like a perfectly crafted experience built for both mobile and PC gaming, as long as the player wants a beautifully crafted story to go along with it.

Players will be able to explore the hauntingly beautiful suburbia of ‘The Almost Gone’ when it releases on June 25 on both Steam, Android, and Apple devices.
