Progress gained within the scope of digitization of the manufacturing industry with INDUSTRY 4.0

Abstract — In this paper, the concept of Industry 4.0 has been defined by describing the process of making information technologies accessible and their intended use in the manufacturing sector. The change that is under the influence of digitalization and the new opportunities and threats that arise as a result of this change are discussed. Strategic objectives and the mechanisms established are shared in order to realize major change to take place rapidly and smoothly. To this end, the system architecture of the Industry 4.0 platform designed by using open-source technologies for the manufacturing sector is described.
