In recent days the undersigned mobile operators have experienced apparently coordinated acts of vandalism against network facilities at a number of locations in Myanmar. It is unclear who is responsible for these actions.

Telecommunications is an essential service and the undersigned are committed to the mission of keeping Myanmar and its citizens connected to each other and to the internet. These acts of vandalism have and will continue to significantly interfere with our ability to fulfil our mission, to the detriment of Myanmar and its citizens. They also threaten the safety of our employees who are as well essential to our mission.

We have reported these actions to our Regulator.

We urge whoever is responsible for these acts of vandalism to consider the consequences of their actions on the country and on the people of Myanmar.
