Continuously developing and adapting its organization to the needs of its customers and partners, Telenor Myanmar today announced changes to its organizational structure and management team. Two new leaders have been appointed to lead the company’s commercial organization. In addition, the company appoints a new Chief People Officer.

New leaders in TML’s commercial division

“At Telenor Myanmar, we are passionate about bringing our customers the most innovative telco products, no matter where they are or whether they prefer to be served digitally or physically. To take our efforts within the commercial area into the future, I am pleased to announce Dheeraj Singh and Sudhansu Kumar Sinha as two new members of our management team. They will head up our Sales & Distribution and Central Marketing divisions, respectively. I would also like to thank our current CMO, Amaresh Kumar, for his significant contributions to the company,” said Jon Omund Revhaug, CEO at Telenor Myanmar.

Dheeraj Singh has been appointed Chief Sales & Distribution Officer at Telenor Myanmar, responsible for the company’s commercial presence across the country. Dheeraj has been with Telenor Myanmar since launch and has served in both operational and strategic roles.

Sudhansu Kumar Sinha has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for the company’s brand, innovation, analytics and customer care activities. Sudhansu is also a seasoned executive with significant operational experience from both Myanmar and other markets.

The changes in the commercial organization are effective from 15 September.

Aye Mya Thanda appointed new Chief People Officer

“Telenor Myanmar has had a clear ambition since its launch to develop competence and expertise in Myanmar. Investing in our talents and in continuous learning remains essential to our ability to transform and stay agile for the benefit of our customers. Replacing outgoing leaders with home-grown talent is important to us. That’s why I am particularly pleased to announce Aye Mya Thanda as our new Chief People Officer. Thanda has played an instrumental role in professionalizing our HR processes, and is well placed to lead the People function in our digital-first organization. Thanda will replace Emily Phyu, who has accepted a role in Telenor Group in Norway,” said Revhaug.

Aye Mya Thanda has more than 10 years’ experience in Human Resources operations, employee relations and digitalization of the employee experience. Prior to joining Telenor Myanmar, she served other international companies in Myanmar and Singapore. Thanda holds a BSc degree in Computer Science from London Metropolitan University and a Diploma in HR management.

The new CPO will formally assume her role from 1 October 2021.
