Meet the ‘Foodie’ Who Landed Her Dream Job with airasia food!
Next up on our Meet #TeamTeleport series, we have Cassandra Chi, who is the Product Operation Executive for the airasia food team in Teleport. Read on to get to know a little more about her!
How did you start your journey with Teleport, and how has it taken you to where you are now?
Just fresh out of university, I had a friend who worked in Teleport who told me that there was a vacancy there. I thought, ‘Why not give it a try?’. I had already planned to begin my working life in a startup company. I hadn’t thought of working in the food delivery industry. But working here has given me the courage to do things far beyond my own limits. My knowledge is growing day-by-day, and it’s something that I feel I can only learn hands-on, and not in a textbook!
What do you love most about your job? Any memorable moments?
My job keeps me super occupied, yet I find it satisfying at the same time. I can learn a lot from the different teams, for example, the Operations, the Product, Customer Service as well as Marketing! When I first joined, I was quite intimidated when recruiting merchants, as I would sometimes get an earful from them — but I take that as a rewarding experience to learn from.
Which of the Teleport core values do you relate to the most?
Definitely ‘Team Before Self’. I believe teamwork is important in order to get things done effectively and efficiently, especially with my airasia food team. Food is not something you want to mess with, or customers will get ‘hangry’! As Helen Keller said, ‘Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.’ I’m grateful to everyone in the airasia food team for being so amazing!

I’m good with any kind of drinks, but strictly no sugar for me! 😋
What keeps you motivated at work?
Seeing airasia food grow into what it is today is my top motivation. From just a small team with a handful of merchants onboard, we’ve become a big team backed up by so many well-known merchants! It feels like seeing a child grow into an adult.
In terms of my day-to-day working life at home, I find that having tons of snacks around me while I work keeps me motivated as well.
What do you hope to see change, whether in the company or in your own personal growth?
I would like my future to include a ‘worry-free’ life! On top of that, I also hope to have the privilege to travel to places where I can see snow! At the same time, I’d love to grow with the company as a whole, and someday become an expert in whatever I’m learning now.
