Teleport Media among the Media Gate winners

Skolkovo and the National Media Group have selected the winners of the Media Gate contest.

The winners of the Media Gate IT projects contest will be able to implement a pilot project with NMG, Russia’s largest private media holding, as well as take part in the FASTTRACK program for free in order to become Skolkovo residents (for new applicants). In total 205 teams from 10 countries took part in this competition earlier this year.

During the demo day in the end of September, the innovative solutions of 20 finalists in 4 areas were presented: machine learning and artificial intelligence, infrastructure for media, computer graphics, and animation, as well as B2C products that can strengthen the existing business areas of NMG.

The jury of experts selected 11 projects from among the finalists instead of the initially planned 10 because of the high quality of the work submitted.

Teleport Media, a Skolkovo resident, is the largest peer-to-peer CDN for online TV and VOD services in Russia, which are interested in inexpensive, effective, and scalable CDN, was in a final list.

We are very grateful that we were among the winners and were recognized by NMG experts as a very promising company for cooperation.

Alexei Kalenchuk, Director of Media Technology at Skolkovo Foundation said: "This is the first media technology competition at Skolkovo and probably the only one in the last five years in Russia. For us, Media Gate is a successful start of a new area. In the 4th quarter of 2021, we will announce another contest with a focus on infrastructure solutions for the entire cycle of audiovisual content production and distribution".

For Teleport Media the infrastructural approach to delivering video at scale to large audiences is the main focus of the product, we are looking forward to the new contest to show our cases and possibilities.
