Today we’d be happy to share with you an overview of Teleport Media’s achievements throughout the intense yet unique ( and crazy )2020.
We really love what we do. Since the world went remote in 2020, online media technologies became the power to bring families, co-workers, students, and all people together. Depending on how media and video tech solutions work (especially on high loads), communication, business, education, social life, and entertainment for the first time ever faced the greatest need in stable, money- and bandwidth-wise video products and tools. This was the stage of evolution for companies like us that resulted in critical tech updates especially in the benefit of VOD streaming required.
Teleport Media Tech Updates
* Improved support for VOD streaming. A timeslot feature that allows connecting the nearest peers that watch different parts of VoD content as efficiently as possible.
* New distribution node prototype for installation on dedicated servers. The node will serve as an additional reliable source of traffic, especially for VOD content.
* A set of own STUN servers to provide a better quality of connections for WebRTC peers, as well as improved privacy.
Not much content last year shows that we had work to do, not making texts. We’re proud to continuously develop our solution to help OTT media broadcasters in 2 main ways: to perform on growing audiences with the highest video quality ever imagined and to provide delivery cost reduction opportunities to let them optimize the total cost of operations and feel safe. Teleport Media & Bitmovin at CSTB 2020
CSTB Telecom & Media is the most significant event at the beginning of the year for the television and telecommunications industry in Russia and CIS. The only in-person event of 2020 that we attended together with our partner Bitmovin, presenting both companies' next-gen video optimization solutions in Moscow. We were honored to introduce Bitmovin as our strategic partner to the Russian & CIS community of media experts and potential customers.
Bitmovin LIVE APAC Edition 2020
We were excited to take part in Bitmovin Live APAC Edition series of partners’ webinars on June 22nd, 2020. Teleport Media CEO Andrey Klimenko was hosting a LIVE discussion on ‘How to provide better visual quality of LIVE & VOD content and decrease your costs by half”. The focus of Andrey’s speech was how Bitmovin’s encoding services and Teleport Media’s peer-to-peer CDN services complement each other and help online broadcasters to control costs, mitigate risk, and manage video delivery workflow. Bitmovin LIVE IBC Edition 2020 Russian session
We had a chance to join our partner’s another online event and host Bitmovin x Teleport Media LIVE webinar with a joint product demo on “How to improve visual quality and cut costs for storage and delivery” on Thursday Sept 17th. This time it was a special Russian session as together we had just concluded the deal with OKKO, the leading VOD provider in Russia, and we aimed to share with the Russian-speaking audience our success and mutual capabilities on the Russian market (and beyond). Bitmovin and Teleport Media upgrade streaming capabilities of OKKO
In August 2020 together with our decentralized video delivery technology, Bitmovin implemented a wide array of technological solutions for Okko, one of the largest VOD services in Russia, and the first joint customer for our companies. Bitmovin and Teleport Media’s expertise and tools will allow Okko to provide new and upgraded streaming services to its customers. Bitmovin will provide solutions and support allowing Okko’s content to be streamed to multiple devices and platforms at the fastest speeds possible and at lower bandwidths.
And the last but not the least news was the idea to redefine Teleport Media logo, web site & the whole design concept to improve recognition and identification on a market.
