Like chemistry, physics can be conceptually demanding as it is also a step up from primary school science. Therefore we have identified some common problems and how to solve them!

  1. Like previously mentioned, physics can be difficult to visualise certain concepts (including but not limited to)
  • Friction
  • Kinematics
  • Moments
  • Electrostatics

2. Additionally, practicals can get very difficult to pull off under time pressure, especially since there are multiple experiments to be done, along with graph drawing etc.

To solve the previously aforementioned issues,

  1. You can draw diagrams when necessary for visualisation of the various concepts and ideas. In addition, try and use real life examples in a theoretical setting
  • Friction: Walking/Car wheels
  • Kinematics: Moving car
  • Moments: Arm balance weighing scale
  • Electrostatics: Balloon and your hair

2. Go through your previous practicals

  • Revise your thought processes and how you should handle a given scenario

3. Read the physics O level practical requirements and marking points in the syllabus
