Q1. Why did you choose Temasek Polytechnic?

Qn: Why did you choose Temasek Polytechnic?

It is the only poly that had the course i wanted.”

Q2. Why did you choose polytechnic over JC?

Qn: Why did you choose polytechnic over JC?
Qn: Why did you choose polytechnic over JC?

I had no interest in most subjects in jc, and I felt that I would be able to cope better doing subjects/modules that i enjoyed. Also, I had an idea of what I want to pursue in the future so going to poly means that I would start learning about things that are relevant to the things I want to do next time.

Q3. Why did you choose your current course?

Qn: Why did you choose your current course?
Qn: Why did you choose your current course?

Apparel design and merchandising.

It is a fashion course, in the first year we learn about the general things of fashion such as illustration, sewing etc. and in the second year we can choose either design or merchandising (business/retail).

Q4. Describe your school culture/spirit?

I havent really experienced it because of hbl and have only been to school less than ten times.

Q5. How is the academic rigour? Is it competitive?

Qn: How is the academic rigour? Is it competitive?
Qn: How is the academic rigour? Is it competitive?

It can be…

quite stressful at times

because in design school, there arent really any tests so most of the work is accumulated for grading so we have to be consistent and manage our time properly. As for competition, I don’t really feel that much of it as of now because I haven’t really interacted with my classmates enough. But when it comes to work…

everyone is willing to help each other out

not afraid to share ways to improve.

Q6. Describe your typical school day

Qn: Describe your typical school day
Qn: Describe your typical school day

it depends on the modules for that term. for this term, my schedule is 9–12 module 1, 12–3 module 2.

Q7. What is the class size and gender ratio?

Qn: What is the class size and gender ratio?
Qn: What is the class size and gender ratio?

22 people, 3 guys, the rest girls.

Q8. Was the competition to get into a CCA tough?

Qn: Was the competition to get into a CCA tough?
Qn: Was the competition to get into a CCA tough?

I recently applied for a sports cca but I have to go through trials (which has not been confirmed because of the situation) according to the in charge of the cca, 60 people applied and only 12 can get in.

Q9. What are some special traditions/activities?

Qn: What are some special traditions/activities?
Qn: What are some special traditions/activities?

I am not very sure, as I have yet to experience it.

Qn: Are lecturers easy to approach and open for consultations?

yes, it is…

very easy to talk to the lecturers and they are very willing to give advice and help you to improve.
