Channel Ten do right by the Emmy Awards — Televised Revolution

Channel 10’s abuse of the Emmy Awards has been a regular irritation of Televised Revolution for a number of years. Despite access to digital multichannels and the simple fact that broadcasting a TV show on TV that celebrates the quality of TV makes pretty good sense to provide product reassurance, Channel Ten have opted to broadcast an edited version of the Emmy Awards instead of the show itself.

This has been a complaint of mine in 2007 and every year since until 2011.

This Monday, Ten will broadcast the awards in full on their digital multichannel Eleven. Yes, many of these award winners will already be known by the time this is broadcast that night. Interested viewers will already have seen the show broadcast live on Fox 8 earlier that day, have heard the results on radio/internet/the TV news. That said, working with the tools they have available, it’s good to see that Ten are making the show available properly. And that deserves a pat on the back.

Televised Revolution will post predictions prior to the event.

When to watch:
FTA — 8:30pm on Eleven, Monday 24 September.
Pay — 10am on Fox 8, Monday 24 September.
