Bridging the Gap: Technology and Independence

With the advent of A.I on the rising tide of how we interact with the world, is there a sense of permeability that tech brings when it comes to diminishing independence?

Have we come so far with technology that what we value as “efficiency and optimization” have taken away our own independent mechanisms for self-motivated action in life? It’s not so much that reduction of manual labor i’m speaking about, but if history and experience have taught us anything it’s

The less you do something yourself, the less motivated you are to grow and take action

Okay, calm down — I know you’re saying to yourself, “BS that’s not true!”. If you are saying that , great! That means you are one of a handful of people who know understand the distinction between using tech and still being independent of it; technology will continue to advance everything in our world from e-com, industry and communication and cannot be stopped. Can you still stick to your intuition, roots and remain independent of it is the question.

What I wish to share and invite you to consider, is the ungrounded nature people may tend to follow when all they know and are surrounded with is technology. It’s not a bad thing that we have adopted social media, mobile communication, live streaming and VR — it’s simply the self-evolution of the human brain and ego being curious.

However,

When do you draw the line between making things simpler vs simple?

Social and economic factors will always warrant growth of technology to accommodate supply and demand, especially in a world that has and continues to move toward evolution and change at an ever increasing rate; it’s like a raging stream you can’t stop it! Sort of good, sort of bad right?

So what is the difference between making something simpler vs simple when we talk about tech and independence? I believe it comes down to this,

Technology for the consumer will help to optimize and make their day to day lives more efficient, reducing time and allocating more of their day to other things they wish to pursue. However, when does it become detrimental to human intuition and creativity of the non-engineer when we become accustomed for technology to do everything for us?

Do we trade our self-motivation and independent actions for a cybernetic system to do it all for us? Or can we embrace tech without sacrificing the inner-strength of our passion and spirit, to find the balance between Yin and Yang, Optimization and Intuition?

Evolve, Move Forward and Stay Grounded

My invitation is this, stay present and mindful about the evolution of technology so that you are at the forefront of where humanity is moving towards. Continue to move forward by embracing technology and how it will help the world change for the better.

Stay grounded from an introspective and personally independent attitude towards your life instead of letting technology perform everything for you. Be your own person and use your 3 brains:

  • Head-Brain
  • Heart
  • Balls

I said your Head-Brain (EGO), Your Heart (The organ in your chest) and your Balls (or if you’re a woman the respective organs you have). What does that even mean?

It means use the brain of your reptilian evolution which today we call instinct; your gut feeling that can’t be measured or analyzed. Use your Heart because that is the center of pure intuition which is grounded in E-Motion and Passion. Lastly use your Head! Your EGO is a very, very powerful asset — if used properly.

Mind is a beautiful servant, but a dangerous master…

At the end of the day, technology is our head-brains (Mind/Ego) desire to be curious and reaffirm that it is continuing to move along the path of success, but it must be kept in check by our gut and our heart. Without balance, we lose our independence and succumb to the exponentially evolving pace of technology.

It’s up to each and everyone of us to adopt technology for how it helps and remain rooted in our own primal instincts and intuition to sustain the space of our independence.
