Breadcrumbs
As I dig through the records and crates of my life I am astonished at the breadcrumbs I have been leaving myself. These breadcrumbs range from handwritten notes, post-its, scribbles in margins, field notes, archived academic articles and journal entries. As I collect and reflect on each crumb I am struck by how these points of clarity hang together. They all point in one direction.
Take for example the publication — Telling the Truth — which was started in 2015 by Truth Aid with the tag of “making social change personal”. It’s now 2023 and I just completed a 2-year study about the role that fictional stories play in making social change real in the world. The consistency with which I have been exploring these same issues makes me realize that the latter part of your life is really about returning back to where you started.
As I close the loop on an arc I have been drawing for a very long time, I hope to finally publish, here, all the research Truth Aid Impact has done over the years in making wellness real for people. One observation that has remained over this entire time period is that healing begins by telling the truth.
