Telos will sponsor Hack Boston to provide workshops, mentoring and prize money at the first crypto hackathon to ever happen on an Ivy League campus. Hack Boston will be held at the world-renowned Harvard University at their Cambridge campus on September 23rd to the 25th. The event welcomes over 300 students from Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and other Ivy League colleges. The opportunity has been made possible by partnering with the web3 learning app EasyA, which will run the prestigious event with the support of the Harvard and MIT blockchain clubs.

Telos & Hack Boston: Endless Possibilities

Telos invites participants to join us in our aim to create a future where web3 can thrive and enhance the lives of millions of people worldwide. Since its inception, Telos has been devoted to supporting a web3 future — everything from DeFi to real-world initiatives.

We have partnered and offered support for dApps centered around evolving financial markets, boosting production in developing economies, supply chain management, carbon emission reduction, health and fitness, user privacy, NFTs and many more. We will continue to provide the infrastructure for perpetual growth in these areas and beyond.

A History of Emerging Leaders

Harvard University and MIT are home to some of the most gifted scholars worldwide. These prestigious learning institutions are a birthplace for ideas and technology that reshape entire industries and, subsequently, the lives of the global population. Both provide their students with the knowledge, tools, and preparation to become generational leaders — case in point, Harvard and MIT alumni have founded or co-founded many fortune 500 and 1000 companies.

Mark Zuckerberg (Harvard, Facebook), Bill Gates (Harvard, Microsoft), Henry Morgan (Harvard, JP Morgan), Robert Noyce (MIT, Intel), Fred Koch (MIT, Koch Industries), and Bill Hewlett (MIT, Hewlett-Packard) are among others on this impressive list. With this proven track record, Telos is thrilled to share an intimate learning environment with the up-and-coming generational leaders of web3 development.

Telos Workshop with Web3’s Next Generation of BUIDLers

Telos Foundation CEO Justin Giudici and Telos Core Developer Jesse Schulman will attend the Hack Boston event to host an essential workshop for students in attendance from Harvard, MIT, and other Ivy League colleges.

The workshop, entitled “ Get Started: Build Faster, Fairer DeFi on Telos,” will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the Telos ecosystem and the unsurpassed advantages it offers developers and users of the network. It is a chance to introduce promising Web3 builders to Telos’ features, such as our ESG compliance, lightning-fast transaction speeds, fixed gas prices, superior scalability, fair governance model, technical support for devs, and further industry-leading developments in our pipeline.

Justin and Jesse will also mentor hacker teams, and, rumor has it, the duo will have plenty of free Telos merch and swag for attendees.

Telos to Award Prizes to Top Web3 Prospects

Cash prizes will be awarded to the two most promising projects, in the categories of DeFi and Real-World Ready, the details of which are as follows:

  • Best of DeFi — $6000: This prize will be awarded to the project judged best in evolving the traditional and/or decentralized finance spaces. Projects in this category will be geared more toward improving financial markets for retail users or institutions (i.e. exchanges, banking services, lending protocols) and improving how they do business with the advent of web3 technology.
  • Best of Real World — $4000: This prize will be awarded to the project that significantly impacts people’s everyday lives (i.e., Providing new ways to earn money through social media and/or solving a critical real-world problem). Projects in this category are geared towards end-users (i.e., retail consumers) and leverage web3 technology to provide a solution.

We look forward to meeting with the next generation of web3 leaders at Hack Boston, and we’re excited to see the many innovative projects being developed by this extraordinary group of individuals.
