Temasek’s newly formed Digital Technology team consists of individual pioneers with the grit and passion to champion the end-to-end digital transformation of our company.
Every day, we collaborate closely with our business teams to break new ground in leveraging digital technology, design, data science, and artificial intelligence to further enhance Temasek’s capabilities in the new digital era.

Meet Our Awesome Team
Mark Lim
“Be Happy, be Awesome and help others to be Happy and Awesome!” is Mark’s favorite quote.
Mark is very passionate about organisational culture and its effects on developing high-performance teams and individuals. He believes that happy people produce high-quality work, and it is important for leaders to seed the right tone for a positive culture to flourish in order to meet organisational goals. These principles have guided his vision, strategy and goals for Root Access.
Fun Fact: Mark used to play tennis competitively. He keeps a tennis racket in his office to practise his strokes in his free time!
Parimal Aswani
“Be a problem finder and not just problem solver” — This is the mantra which resonates with Parimal. He believes that Engineering is a powerful discipline which empowers you to create new solutions to problems. To get there though, one must first ask the right questions to go to the root of the problem.
He’s excited about building high-performance teams and working on new possibilities with AI and machine learning.
Fun Fact: Parimal was part of the Production team for a number of Dreamworks movies including “Puss in Boots” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2”, and is listed on IMDB.com
Suen Tan
Suen believes that “life is what you make of it”. His philosophy is to embrace and excel at what life throws at him, and where he can, steer things in the desired direction.
That philosophy has meant that Suen has had a varied career from development, solution architecture and project management, to technology operations. Suen is now overseeing the Secure Cloud and AI & Big Data Programmes that Root Access is delivering.
Suen describes himself as a planner, a thinker, a problem solver, occasionally a teacher but always a student. He’s also a coffee addict, a food lover, an occasional cook, a music lover, a travel junkie, an avid hiker, a slow reader, and a fan of good conversations.
Fun Fact: Suen has taken several career breaks to travel and has been to all 7 continents, including Antartica.
Sang Shin
Sang takes the fluff out of innovation while amping up the fun factor. As the innovation lead of Root Access, he is busy concocting innovation funnels, partnering with startups, and challenging defaults to build an open innovation platform that delivers new capabilities and sows new mindsets.
Prior to joining Root Access, Sang jumped off the corporate ladder and challenged Goliath with a startup in Silicon Valley. After the app was banned by Apple due to the disruptive threat it posed to the digital advertising industry, Sang decided to move to Asia to help develop the regional startup ecosystem.
Fun Fact: Sang has a retirement fund in the form of a museum-worthy collection of sneakers.
Wyin Kok — UI/UX Designer🥛
Wyin is Digital Technology’s very first intern. During her internship, she had the privilege of contributing to exciting projects from both the AI and Big Data, and Innovation teams. Wyin enjoys thinking out of the box and pushing for user-centric designs. Her internship projects revolved around UI/UX, data visualisation and product management.
From time to time, Wyin also wonders why a bubble tea emoji has not yet been added to the iOS keyboard.
Fun Fact: Wyin loves Specialty Coffee. She enjoys cafe hopping and checking out hipster cafes in her free time.
Alex Tan — Product Manager, Integrated Devices 👷🏻♂️
Aka Phua Chu Kang when he put on the other ‘hat’ (without the yellow boots), Alex is responsible for delivering innovative phygital services for Temasek. He aspires to digitally transform the way people work, collaborate with one another and interact with the workplace.
Fun Fact: An avid chicken rice fan, Alex tries to eat at all the great stalls in Singapore, Johor and some say Batam.
Sharlene Wong — AI/ML Engineer 📝
Growing up, Sharlene had always wanted to be an imagineer, and she thinks she got pretty close to it in her current role. Trained as a design-centric software engineer, she has transited to the world of applied AI. Sharlene believes that AI is shaping the future of software; the fun is in figuring out how to build effective AI products that solve real-world business needs.
Fun Fact: Sharlene is a grandmaster archer who can shoot arrows, striking unsuspecting colleagues and getting away with it.
Alvin Teh — Full Stack Software Engineer 🥦
A digital maverick, Alvin spends most of his time leveraging cutting-edge technologies that better the lives of others, in areas from cloud tech to hackathons to mobile apps. A self-confessed purist, he advocates for good code and grammar.
Fun Fact: Alvin doesn’t eat any vegetables, fruits, and seafood.
Yonggang Xie — Full Stack Software Engineer 🐲
Yonggang is always looking for simpler and more effective solutions to problems. He loves elegant software and hardware designs and enjoys solving problems, and uses software to make the life of others easier, one step at a time.
Fun Fact: The source of Yonggangsta’s gangsta vibes is the tattoo on his arm. The tattoo was a spur-of-the-moment decision where he agreed to be the first client of his aspiring tattoo artist friend.
Mook Chaichirawiwat — Product Manager, AI & Big Data 👩💻
Mook enjoys helping people with her technical and problem-solving skills. She is focusing on putting her passions and skills to good use by driving AI and data visualisation squads to create new solutions and empower her colleagues here at Temasek.
Fun Fact: Born and raised in Thailand, Mook can’t eat spicy food. She is also a Bubble Tea addict.
Jensen Loke — Product Manager, AI & Big Data 🧘🏻♂️
Jensen is an AI and Big Data Product Manager. He’s in charge of delivering self-service analytics products and strives to builds an open source culture that empowers employees to employ modern data-driven decision-making techniques. Jensen dreams of building Jarvis someday that will always be running by his side, giving him more time to learn new things and find better ways to do things.
Fun Fact: Jensen is a calculated risk taker who scuba dives and rides a motorcycle.
Evelyn Lau Lai Yee — Value Management & Comms Manager 👩👦👦
As the team’s Value Management & Comms Manager, Evelyn believes that what cannot be measured cannot be improved. Evelyn’s work revolves around creating metrics, processes and effectively communicating the values created by the team across to the broader organisation. She also believes that being part of Root Access allows her to contribute to a better world.
Fun Fact: Evelyn’s fantasy is social impact. She is convinced that magic happens when technology meets social needs. She is always up for a conversation on how we can better give back to the community.
