Getting the right things done right — that’s the motto of Dimitra, our new CPTO
Meet Dimitra — our Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) here at Temper. She recently joined Temper and brings a lot of experience and wisdom from her previous adventures. Let’s learn about who she is, what interested her most in Temper’s mission, and what her ambitions are for Temper as a product.
Dimitra, please tell us about yourself.
“Sure! I come from Greece, but moved to the Netherlands in 2005. My career path has always been a combination of Product and Engineering. Over the past many years, it has also combined the elements of Finance and Business. In my personal life, I focus a lot of time on my family and my 7-year old son. He enjoys being an ice hockey goalie, so my weekends typically revolve around his sport. We also do a lot of construction projects together and I introduce him to some coding, which he enjoys.”
What interested you most about Temper and our mission of changing the modern labour market?
“Since the first day, I fully believe in the mission of Temper. HR Tech is a market that I really like being involved in, specifically enabling people to find jobs and gain experience. The fact that we are adding something meaningful and valuable to people’s lives, I find that really important.
Especially the way that Temper approaches the mission, through building resilience into the current labour conditions, is what definitely attracted me. Another aspect that interested me was the ambition that Temper has. It’s aligned with my personal characteristics. I tend to not emphasize on limitations and go for it. Same goes for how Temper lives the values that we set out to live. You see it in every aspect of our day to day operations. I have appreciated and experienced this from day one during the process of getting to know Temper.”
Talking about values, what is your favourite value?
“We own it. This one is definitely written for me. I believe in taking accountability. Accountability with empowerment, because one cannot live without the other. I try to infuse this in the team that we have and in the new team members that will be joining us. That we own it together and together we bring it to the next stage. Together is what will make the magic happen.”
How do you interpret your role as CPTO at Temper?
“It is a very interesting role because it combines both contexts, Product and Tech. It has an increased complexity, which is something I’m attracted to personally. We’re currently in a transformation phase at Temper. We are growing as a scale-up company, which comes with a type of maturity necessary in everything that we do. My motto is getting the right things done right. Getting to the bottom of the what, the how, and the why is fascinating to me.”
What are your ambitions for Temper as a product?
“I would like the Temper product to deliver the value that it is promising and beyond. That it would globally open the road for resilience in the labour market. So that new professionals enter the labour market with strong confidence of what it is that they can do for themselves. Be your own boss, with the flexibility that fits your lifestyle to be successful on your own personal goals. That would be a very nice thing to be able to achieve for all the FreeFlexers who find their clients on the Temper platform.
And when it comes to their clients, that they will add resilience and efficiencies in their businesses without compromising the level of service their businesses promise to their customers by positioning themselves and their available shifts to the already large network of available professionals on the platform.”
