How CFO Marjolein and team are servicing and enabling Temper in the very best way they can
Meet Marjolein — our CFO here at Temper. We’re really happy to have her on the team and we were curious to know why she chose Temper, what she wants to achieve in her role and how she foresees the future of making the modern labour market fairer, more accessible and more efficient.
Marjolein, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
“Hi everyone! I live in Bloemendaal with my husband and 4 children. The children are now all in secondary school, but when we moved from New York to Bloemendaal — 11 years ago — they were really a handful! I had very little free time back then. Now I often go for a walk on the beach or in the dunes. I also like to listen to podcasts about culture and business — in the car, when I am cooking or sometimes on a walk.”
What interested you most in Temper and our mission of changing the modern labour market?
“I knew Temper from the newspapers and had been following the discussion about modernizing the labor market for a long time. It intrigues me that modern workers are not represented in The Hague and that recumbent parties are not willing to let go.”
How do you interpret your role as CFO at Temper?
“The role is still evolving every day and that makes it so interesting! It is a broad role with many links to the organization, which I really like. It is all about money (more = better), risks (less = better), administration (100% correct) and legal matters. At the same time we want to be innovating where we can or have to.”
We battle for the best. What do you want to achieve at Temper?
“As the Finance team, we are enablers: making sure the company has the money to grow, everyone receives their salaries on time, risks are managed well, our administration is solid, and we are abiding by the law and making smart legal decisions. And also to assist the rest of the organization where we can and be of help with our expertise. This may sound rather boring, but this is what really excites me. To make sure we are servicing and enabling the organization in the very best way we can.”
Where do you see Temper in 5 years?
“I am fully confident that we will be a major, international player at that time. The leading platform for flexible workers with the biggest supply of shifts.
We have a strong and committed team, and everything is in place to continue our fast growth path. All we have to do is keep our eyes on the prize!”
