Seven Reasons Why
We bumped into it again one cold night as we left a space between us on the bed. Making the most of the fact that we were put in quarantine to fulfill the global confinement, we had taken up an old crossword puzzle booklet that we had abandoned for quite some time. Following the tradition of solving one page a year, we dusted off our page number 20. The eight letters of that D-word formed from top to bottom as we deciphered the clues:
1. The result of your disagreement or argument…………… Difference
2. Your act or instance of disloyalty…………………………. Infidelity
3. Your unwarranted or unlawful display of force……….… Violence
4. You both always argue about…………………………… mOney
5. The intense anger you usually feel or exhibit………….… Rage
6. No matter how the other feels, you continue…….……… Cheating
7. You’re fearful of being displaced by a rival……….……… jEalous
And that was it.
Unexpectedly, we didn’t know if it was anger or sadness, we started to cry.
