All of life’s choices
All of life’s choices can be divided into two — the ones that you don’t remember ever again in your life and the ones that you repent for the rest of your life.
My personal theory on such choices is simply to not make one. I usually just let life go on without any determined effort or vigorous decision on my part. I call it the ‘pull’ theory of fate / destiny, when you just go on along the path of least resistance. But sometimes you are at cross roads and you just have to pull out that compass and go the opposite direction of that needle (what you think fate will lead you in the “right” direction?).
So as rare at it might be, finally I have chosen a direction. I have decided to go back to India after an amazing 6 years in the bay area. Why? Well the personal and legal (visa) reasons apart, home always seemed like a good idea. There is no place to remake yourself than the place where you were once made. Chances are better that it has all the right ingredients.

People often ask, if I like it better here than India. And I tell them that I like the life I have here, and I liked the life I had in India. If there is one thing I have learned in my three decades of neo-nomadic existence, then it is that there is an essential truth and beauty in all experiences this world has to offer. From the California sun to the monsoon rains, from the chirping of the birds at the break of dawn to the death throes of a speared gazelle in the lingering dusk. All that I ever hope for is a chance to experience it, perhaps understand portions of it, and live on with the few moments of it that imprints most deeply.
