As part of our support for the Tri-City Tennis Championships 2018, we shared 3 tips to help players prepare for match day.

3 Match Day Preparation Tips:

1. Familiarize yourself with the host club: for players who will be new to the tournament site, if possible, try to visit a day or two before and familiarize yourself with the courts and the surroundings. Let your mind create a mental picture of the tournament environment and this will help you prepare.

2. Get used to the court surface: if possible, try to play on the courts to get a feel for the speed and bounce of the surface. This experience will allow you to try certain adjustments in your swings or shot placements and you will have a mental note created prior to your match.

3. Practice with the tournament balls: ask the organizers what tennis balls will be used. Try to get a can or two of these balls and play with them to get used to them. Different brands feel different and you will be able to make adjustments as needed and be more prepared prior to your match.

The above 3 tips will help you improve your preparation and be ready for your match.

All the best!
