Below, you’ll find a listing of the 38 unique outfits worn by David Tennant during his time in Doctor Who, covering all his appearances from The Parting of the Ways through to his return in 2013 for The Day of the Doctor.

In order to make the catalogue easier to read — and to avoid the number of variant costumes running up towards the hundreds — they’ve been grouped loosely. For example, the catalogue refers to simply ‘a light blue shirt’ in a number of entries, rather than offering an entirely new variant for every different brand of light blue shirt worn by Tennant in the role.

You can find more information about some of the different shirts he wore under The Costume Elements.

At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a chart which lists the outfits alongside the episodes they appeared in, using the numbering given in this catalogue. This chart also includes information about which episodes Tennant wore his brown overcoat in, when the glasses were worn, which buttons were done up, and any other variations within these 38 outfits.

Over in Final Thoughts, you’ll find a handful of additional outfits that don’t really fit within the catalogue, but are of interest nonetheless.

For the purposes of looking at which buttons were worn done up in any given episode, they have been numbered from one to four, running top to bottom along the front of his suit jacket.
