Reddit is testing Ethereum-based loyalty program for content uploaders. Specifically, more engaged users of subreddits Fortnite (1,3M) and Cryptocurrency (1M), will be able to gain Community Points for karma received in those subreddits. The points equal ERC-20 tokens. The distribution will start at 50M tokens. Reddit announced it will also cover the Ethereum network’s commission.
Such type of marketing seems to be a new standard, as more companies use custom tokens as gratification for users. As Reddit acknowledges that many users targeted haven’t obtained crypto before, their effort might help popularizing cryptocurrency in major way, Ternion team concludes.
