Genesis
Approximately 3 years ago, almost to the very day, we launched the Ternoa Twitter account. While it served as a public hint that a project was in the works, the truth is that we had been toiling in the background for numerous years.

As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding. I presented the project to the individual who later became our advisor, Owen Simonin (aka. Hasheur), a name many of you are familiar with. This encounter took place in January 2019 during CES LAS VEGAS.

Nearly 4 years have transpired since that conversation, and after an immense amount of dedication, along with numerous challenges and triumphs, Ternoa has not only fulfilled its promises but surpassed them.

Transitioning from Time Capsules to Mainstream Adoption

Ternoa was originally designed to enable the creation of decentralized “Time Capsules”. A blockchain focused on safeguarding the confidentiality and efficient transmission of users data, leveraging NFTs, asymmetric encryption and confidential computing in an unprecedented way.

However, as soon as the mainnet went live and over the course of the past year, the Ternoa blockchain has unveiled its true potential. It has proven itself to be a robust infrastructure capable of expediting the widespread acceptance of web3 technologies, thanks to two fundamental pillars of our core philosophy: accessibility and privacy.

• Accessibility thanks to our architecture empowering 15 million web developers to build NFT applications without the need to learn a new programming language. We offer NFT functionalities seamlessly integrated into the core protocol, eliminating the necessity to code smart contracts or rely on trusted intermediaries, even for the development of intricate and highly practical NFT collections.

• Privacy is ingrained in Ternoa’s DNA, and stands as our raison d’être. Capsules and Secret NFTs represent an all-in-one on-chain privacy solution, opening doors to use cases that were once exclusive to centralized applications. Their implementation became fully complete with the open-sourcing of our secret clusters’ code.

Origin: Completion

Last week, we proudly announced the culmination of Ternoa’s “Origin” roadmap, the foundation upon which our journey began.

It’s an exceptional, avant-garde and groundbreaking milestone that we’re delighted to have shared with you:

Exceptional: Despite the inherent complexity, this project rallied our entire team, who worked tirelessly to make our open-source solution now available to the whole world.

Avant-garde: While the landscape of data security witnessed numerous initiatives since 2023, Ternoa stands complete, functional, and open-source.

Groundbreaking: We have pioneered the first decentralized privacy solution, extending its accessibility to web developers worldwide.

Let’s now reflect on the remarkable milestones we’ve achieved over the past three years:

• A decentralized blockchain with 100+ nodes running
• 7M blocks produced without incident
• A toolbox for builders (SDK, indexer, wallet, explorer)
• A community of 200k+ people
• 40k+ $caps holders
• A token listed on over 8 Exchanges, including 3 of the world’s Top 10
• A labs and launchpad to facilitate the creation of new apps
• An ecosystem of 80+ projects and partners
• International presence in Japan and the U.A.E.

Be proud to have been a part of this remarkable journey and to have contributed to its success. With the first phase of this voyage now concluded, let us cast our gaze towards the future.

…To the Odyssey

The Odyssey is a dedicated effort towards the growth of the Ternoa blockchain, quantified by the daily tally of recorded transactions. To achieve this, we’ve charted a course along three strategic axes:

• Adoption: We strive to incentivize new projects to opt for the Ternoa blockchain as their platform of choice for product development
• Awareness: Our mission is to extend the reach of our crypto and developer communities, ensuring that Ternoa becomes a well-recognized and comprehensible entity in novel regions.
• Network: We are committed to enhancing decentralization, stability, and the functionalities of our blockchain. This is to ensure that Ternoa continues to present a compelling value proposition to all stakeholders.

Adoption

Builders and Global Expansion

Ecosystem growth is key to the success of any web3 infrastructure.

Today, we have significant momentum in Japan and France, where we are frequently approached by new projects. To scale and emulate this success, we are relying on a clear, relevant value proposition, as well as strategic international partnerships to attract new projects.

To turn these opportunities into reality, our Labs and launchpad will maintain their unwavering commitment to offering comprehensive support to projects opting for our platform. We will also closely assist the most promising ventures among them every step of the way.

Awareness

Keeper
Picture a scenario where a smart contract on Polygon securely transmits confidential data in an anonymous and decentralized manner to a wallet on Arbitrum.

Closely linked to Ternoa, and based on the premise that existing on-chain confidentiality solutions limit the development potential of web3 applications, Keeper is the first 100% “chain-agnostic” decentralized confidentiality protocol. It can therefore be used by any application, built on any blockchain.

Keeper is a substantial vector of awareness to reach new developer communities as it makes the use of Ternoa unavoidable and fluid (without bridging) from any blockchain ecosystem.

The overarching aim of Keeper is to establish itself as the preeminent decentralized privacy protocol across the Internet, and it will be powered by Ternoa.

Ronin, bringing together and nurturing community growth.

The Ronin Club was launched at the beginning of September.

This club brings together the entire Ternoa ecosystem community, who can get involved with a shared mission to introduce and promote the project to a wider audience.

Network

Smart Contracts

The integration of smart contracts into TERNOA is a top priority for our team.

Today, our infrastructure is focused on NFTs, and we have received numerous requests from developers asking for the possibility of coding complex “made-to-measure” on-chain interactions.

For instance, game developers are interested in incorporating features like staking and farming mechanics into their projects.

Others, while attracted to Ternoa’s stability and growth, do not require NFTs for their use cases, such as creating a DEX or an AMM on Ternoa. With the integration of smart contracts, we will be well-equipped to fulfill these diverse needs.

This protocol enhancement will position us more favorably to attract a broader spectrum of projects and expand the horizons of what they can accomplish within the Ternoa ecosystem.

We have plans to implement ink!, a programming language that simplifies the creation of ready-to-use smart contracts, and provide an interface so that Solidity developers can import their code directly into TERNOA.

Without giving a specific date, we’re doing everything we can to implement it within the year.

Burn

Even though $CAPS is inherently a deflationary cryptocurrency, we have always considered implementing a token burning policy to enhance the blockchain’s tokenomics.

Upon the full-scale launch of “Secret Clusters,” we dedicated substantial efforts to refine our tokenomics. As a result our first $CAPS burn program is going live in mid-September.

Parachain

Starting in 2022, we have maintained a close partnership with Parity, culminating in the successful completion of the “Substrate Builder Program” milestones during this past summer.

While we’re more ready than ever to become Parachain, the timing of our deployment is of utmost importance. As always, we will exercise caution and adhere to a stringent decision-making process to guarantee a smooth integration of Ternoa into the Polkadot ecosystem.

Product Council

Over a year ago, we established the Product Council with the primary objective of determining which new features should be incorporated into the Ternoa blockchain.

Historically, the Product Council has consisted solely of in-house team members. However, as part of our Odyssey phase, we intend to broaden its composition by including external members, ultimately expanding the council to comprise 10 individuals.

What’s Next?

The new roadmap we are unveiling marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, one that will further solidify Ternoa as a highly relevant and efficient blockchain infrastructure.

Once we’ve achieved our objectives, the “Horizon” phase will follow on from “Odyssey”, but it’s still too early to talk about that…
