In this article, you’ll learn more about our latest partnership with Crust Network, a polkadot-based project that facilitates decentralized storage, allowing immutable storage for metadata.

Ternoa is thrilled to announce their latest partnership with Crust Network, a decentralized storage protocol that enables storage across a network of nodes. As an interoperable NFT-centric blockchain that empowers users to store important data through NFT, it’s crucial for Ternoa to expand reliable backup options off its own chain.

Thanks to this new partnership, any data stored with Ternoa is now replicated across more than 50 servers, ensuring resilience and access for any files stored or linked to in its chain. Below are some more details on how Crust provides this powerful storage mechanism.

How does Crust Network work?

Crust Network is a decentralized storage network based on its own parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem. The platform offers Web 3.0 storage for the metaverse and supports a variety of chains, including Polygon, Flow, Moonriver, and HECO.

Crust network is interoperable with a variety of storage layer protocols, including IPFS allowing developers to use Crust in combination with other storage protocols. Its multilayer architecture consists of a Service layer, a GPoS layer, and an MPoW layer.

The service layer interfaces with users and enables them to store and retrieve files. The guaranteed Proof of Stake is based on storage resources and requires stakers to provide storage space and maintain the functionality of the network by validating transactions. This means validators on Crust not only hold the native token but also provide storage, further enhancing the integrity of the system.

More importantly, the third layer verifies that data is actually being stored. Through meaningful Proof-of-Work, new nodes have to verify their execution environment before they can provide storage. Additionally, nodes are being tested on if they actually have done the work (stored files).

Partnering with Crust provides Ternoa with an even more powerful way to back up users precious data for years to come. This is also highlighted by Luke Fan (Co-founder and CTO) who emphasized: “Current NFT solutions often do not really address the question of how to store metadata in a way that’s accessible yet reliable. By adding Crust network to our storage partners, we’re making Ternoa even more powerful, ensuring that users’ data will be available, immutable and retrievable at all times without getting lost”.

Ludwig Trappe (BD Lead) from Crust adds that “We’re very excited to be providing Ternoa with a way to backup their NFTs data, and look forward to collaborating with the team.”

Crust Network

Crust Network is a versatile, purpose-built storage blockchain that delivers truly decentralized file storage for the entire Web3 ecosystem, empowering privacy and data ownership. Crust’s unique decentralized storage marketplace connects storage requests with storage node providers almost instantly, enabling users to easily host websites, dApps and NFT metadata; share personal files; and build custom APIs.
