Memento Mori, right?
yesterday, you said tomorrow
when are you going to do that thing that you’ve been putting off?
yesterday, you said tomorrow…
when are you going to do that thing that you’ve been putting off?
tomorrow isn’t promised
so don’t wait too long
one day bleeds into another
and before you know it,
it’s next year and
yesterday’s long gone
time stops for no one
(assuming it even exists…)
like, is it or isn’t it
a social construct?
either way, this is your life
and it’s happening…
one moment
at a time
one event after another
and you’re either lost
in your thoughts
or in a state of
default mode network
a drone
surrounded by others like you,
unconsciously
passing through
the infinite fabric of reality,
in a world brimming with
possibilities and potential —
the majority of which go
unseen,
unfulfilled,
unexamined,
and unlived
all I see are zombies
trancing all around me —
raving about some meme,
or reel,
or Tik Tok,
or the news
reinforcing the idea
that we live in a boring old
Techno-Dystopia
(Huxley and Orwell are rolling like 8-balls in their graves)
their ambitions and dreams
burdened by myopia
when are you going to do that thing you’ve been putting off, huh?
when are you going to pursue what your heart wants?
what you feel you’ve been put on this planet to do?
this spinning rock
orbiting around
some giant,
flaming,
red hot Cheeto
of a sun
don’t wait too long…
Memento Mori, right?
yesterday, you said tomorrow…
yesterday, you said tomorrow…
yesterday, you said tomorrow…
tomorrow is here…
just do it
(wow, I feel like Tony Robbins…)
