Breaking New Ground: TFL Becomes Confio’s First CosmWasm Subscriber
Terraform Labs (TFL) is proud to support the advancement of CosmWasm development within Cosmos as the inaugural subscriber of Confio’s new CosmWasm subscription. Terra’s History with CosmWasm
CosmWasm is a smart contract platform focusing on security, performance, and interoperability. From its earliest days, CosmWasm has stood as a pillar of the Cosmos ecosystem, supporting smart contract development across various blockchains, including Terra, Osmosis, Injective, and others. The relationship between Terra and CosmWasm dates back to the latter’s inception in 2020. At that time, TFL identified the value CosmWasm held for strengthening the Terra ecosystem and its burgeoning developer community. It wasn’t long before Terra set a precedent by becoming the first blockchain ecosystem to adopt CosmWasm, leveraging it to build several cutting-edge DeFi applications.
Two years later, TFL marked another milestone by becoming the first entity outside of the Interchain Foundation to extend financial support to Confio. This support came in the form of grant funding, aimed at further developing CosmWasm as a valuable public good for the Cosmos ecosystem. Now, TFL has stepped up to become the first subscriber in their new subscription model, supporting Confio in:
