Cosmoverse started the month off big, and it didn’t slow down — from partnership announcements and innovative new ecosystem releases to a critical community proposal passing governance, October 2023 may be the month we look back on as an inflection point for the Terra community.

Here’s everything that happened in the Terra ecosystem in October 👇

⚛ Cosmoverse 2023

  • Cosmoverse took place on Oct 2–4 in Istanbul. The Terra booth was hopping throughout, and plenty of LUNAtics stopped by to say hello.
  • TFL CEO Chris Amani gave a keynote presentation on the first day, laying out his thoughts on the future of Terra and revealing what TFL is working on. Some said it was the most interesting talk at Cosmoverse 😊
  • Warp Protocol held a hackathon, offering $3K in prizes. BIG Labs took part by creating a grid & DCA bot, coming to Terra soon.
  • How decentralized is Terra? It won an award for decentralization at Cosmoverse… and nobody claimed it 😂

🌎 Ecosystem Updates

  • Nibiru, a new Cosmos chain, is teaming up with Warp Protocol to bring limit orders to Nibi-Perps 📊
  • PixeLions notched top volumes across all Cosmos NFTs in early October, showing how NFT collections can be successful by launching on Terra and building their communities on Enterprise Protocol.
  • Ginkou, a protocol building the Bank of Alliance on Migaloo, announced their intention to provide loans for Amp and b collateral Alliance assets.
  • Andromeda spoke with TFL’s Zion Schum about how aOS is set to accelerate development across initiatives like Alliance and Enterprise Hub, enabling devs to build faster than ever before.
  • The protocol formerly known as Dexter announced its new name: URA.
  • The “CosmoCarpet” collection, including a beautiful Terra design inspired by a nomadic rug motif, was released.
  • Beefy and GOGO users who qualify for the airdrop outlined in Prop 4765 can now claim their airdrop 🪂
  • Dev3Map dropped an analysis of Terra developer activity.
  • Capapult announced their 8-step roadmap, including IBC liquidations using Warp Protocol and new token listings.
  • Ginkou opened their community chat for everyone to join.
  • White Whale announced they would be migrating liquidity from the WHALE-axlUSDC pool on Terra to the new WHALE-USDC pool on Migaloo. This, along with three other updates, including incentivizing WHALE-LUNA pools on Terra 🔥
  • Cast your vote to request Pulsar Finance track staked Alliance assets on Terra. The process works — Pulsar is already implementing Station Wallet for voting in response to user feedback 🤝
  • New liquid Alliance staked tokens dropped from Eris Protocol: ampWHALEt and boneWHALEt.
  • Celatone, a powerful new suite of developer and analytics tools, is now live on Terra.
  • Cosmos Rescue announced a new feature: a validator voting history tracker, so community members can choose a validator that’s active in governance and aligns with their values.
  • Station Wallet created new Discord and Telegram channels specifically for Station enjoyoors. Join or suffer the wrath of OtherMike2! (j/k, he’s very nice)
  • Eris Protocol launched four new Amp compounder pools on Terra.
  • Warp Protocol showed off its beautiful new landing page 🌀
  • Ginkou surpassed $100K TVL in under two weeks 🤯 The Ginkou team is killing it!
  • The team behind Terra’s Growth DAO released an introduction to Growth DAO, including the problem they’re tackling, how they’re approaching it, and an introduction to the team.
  • Eris Protocol’s Amp Z on Terra leveled up with new yield sources and destinations.
  • Enterprise Protocol teased a new DAO icon. What do you think?
  • Astroport initiated ASTRO buybacks on Neutron.
  • TFL partnered with TerraSpaces, Terra’s community-run audio vault for Terra-related podcasts and events, supporting everything they do for the Terra community.
  • Capapult introduced the Solid Rebranding Contest in partnership with TFL to enlist the community’s help in shaping the future visual identity of Solid, the new name for Capapult.
  • The Enterprise DAO app moved to dao.enterprise.money 📢
  • MantaDAO announced Terra support coming soon, including the ability to trade ROAR on MantaSwap deployed on Terra.
  • Skeleton Punks released a spooky, seasonally-appropriate bounty worth over 3,000 LUNA. Let the dark moon rise 🌒

🏦 Governance Updates

  • Prop 4785, to upgrade Terra to v2.5.1, passed. The upgrade took place on Oct 18th.
  • TFL’s Chris Amani requested a community grant to enable TFL to jumpstart the Terra ecosystem, leveraging its resources and expertise. After discussions with the community, including refinements to the proposal based on feedback, Prop 4790 passed with overwhelming community support. Chris thanked the community for its support. TFL is already evaluating opportunities, with big announcements and product releases on the way.

🤝 Integrations & Listings

  • Levana Protocol launched fully collateralized perpetual swaps for LUNA on Osmosis, offering up to 4x leverage (backed by USDC). It will track how much interest there is and report back to Terra with its findings.
