Moving to open beta

Today is an exciting day for us — we’re opening up Terrestrial to the public for the first time, as we move into open beta!

To a successful beta!

We launched our private beta in early January and have had over 150 developers participating. Thousands of strings have been translated with Terrestrial! The feedback we have received in the past few months has been incredible, and we were even unexpectedly featured on Product Hunt.

A huge thank you to everyone involved!

Some changes

Starting today, Terrestrial is in open public beta! We are also introducing a new pricing model in response to feedback we received from our beta participants:

A common piece of feedback was that our old per-seat model was a confusing, and ultimately did not work for many types of teams. So, we are now moving to a simpler, tiered pricing model.

We want to be able to serve all types of apps — from independent developers, to startups, to consultancies, all the way to large enterprises. We believe this new model will work better for all of our customers.

If you are currently subscribed to a paid plan, we will be contacting you individually to help you migrate over to our new plans.

What comes next?

We have a lot of new features and improvements lined up for release in the coming months. If you have any questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi, feel free to reach out to me via email or Twitter.

Thank you again for everyone who has been with us so far! We are building Terrestrial to make app localization as simple as possible and we are excited about the journey ahead!

We’re only just getting started!
